THE FORGE AFFORDS A WARM WELCOME

Friday, 10 March 2006

The Mayor of Antrim Officially Opens The Forge at RandalstownA warm welcome awaits residents and visitors, at The Old Forge, Randalstown.

Karen Steele, Development Manager for Visitor Servicing with Antrim Borough Council explains, ‘Due to the retirement of the owner of the Post Office in Randalstown, an opportunity arose for a local business to take over the local information service.  The Old Forge Coffee Shop in John Street was chosen to be the new location of the Randalstown Local Information Office because of its central location, opening hours and local knowledge.’

As a networked Local Information Office, Hugh Fitzgerald and his staff will work closely with the staff at Antrim Information Centre, which is the main Networked Tourist Information Service within the Borough of Antrim.  The information available will include a wide range of guides on local attractions, tourist accommodation, places to eat and maps of the local area.

Karen continued, ‘I hope that local residents and visitors to the area will avail of this excellent service.  The Council is delighted to be involved in this initiative and look forward to working in partnership with Hugh and his team.’
