The Council supports community development throughout the Borough. The development of community groups and associations and in particular the expansion of groups in rural areas, is evidence of the growth of this sector, enabling communities to avail of new opportunities to improve their quality of life and the environment in which they live. The aim of the Good Relations programme is to improve day to day relationships by reducing all forms of prejudice, encouraging everyone to treat other equally and encouraging a society in which our own cultures and traditions as well as other peoples cultures and traditions are understood, respected and accepted.
