Details:
Each year Council strikes a "District Rate" in order to raise from local ratepayers the funds required to deliver its services over the incoming financial year. The striking of the District Rate is a complex annual exercise. The level of the District Rate struck is dependent on a variety of factors including Council's capital investment plans, anticipated expenditure and income, borrowing requirements, central government grant, and the "penny product" (the amount of finance which a 1p rate is expected to produce).
