Antrim District Policing Partnership

Antrim District Policing Partnership (DPP) was created in 2003 and works on behalf of all of the community to ensure that the police focus on issues that are important to the local community. It comprises 10 representatives from Antrim Borough Council and 9 representatives from the community who are not affiliated with Antrim Borough Council or the PSNI.

Antrim DPP hold regular meeting to monitor police performance and further to this organise six Public meetings each year to give everyone who lives or works in the Borough of Antrim a real opportunity to have a say on local policing.  At the Public Meetings senior police officers locally are held accountable for PSNI performance in achieving the targets set and agreed by the DPP on behalf of the community.

        Cllr Anne-Marie Logue
          Chair of Antrim DPP

AIMS OF THE DPP

  • Make the local Chief Inspector of the PSNI aware of local policing issues which have been identified by the community
  • Work with the Area Commander to prioritise these issues and develop annual performance targets in the local policing plan
  • Monitor police performance against these targets published each year in the local policing plan
  • Develop practical ways of obtaining the community's co-operation in working with the PSNI to prevent crime and protect our community
  • To act as a forum for the community and the DPP to discuss local policing issues

NEXT PUBLIC MEETING

In order to give everyone who lives or works in Antrim Borough, the opportunity to have a real say in how local policing is provided, Antrim DPP organise open, Public Meetings and invite the MOST senior police officers in the borough to explain how the police are performing against the targets set and agreed with the DPP Members.

The purpose of these meetings is to provide a public forum for you the community to discuss issues of concern and to ask questions of the police as to how they propose to address these issues.

The next Public Meeting of Antrim District Policing Partnership is scheduled forTuesday 22nd November 2011 at 7:00pm in Randalstown Central Primary School, 4 Church Road, Randalstown, BT41 3AJ
