Toome Masterplan

GROW South Antrim is currently implementing its rural development strategy which was endorsed by Antrim, Carrickfergus and Newtownabbey Borough Councils in 2008. Almost £9million has been allocated to GROW from Axis 3 of the EU’s Rural Development Programme by the Department of Agriculture & Rural Development (DARD).

One of the themes within GROW’s strategy focuses on Village Renewal and an associated action plan sets out a number of specific interventions aimed at improving and sustaining the quality of life for those who reside in the rural communities of south Antrim.

Within GROW South Antrim’s strategy the three villages of Toomebridge, Whitehead and Doagh were identified as being in a state of readiness to progress to full Masterplans. Paul Hogarth & Company were been appointed to undertake the work and the Toome Masterplan is now complete. The working group will be actively working on projects within the village action plan.
