Health and Safety

The aim of this area of work is to enhance the health, safety and welfare of all persons at work and to protect those who may be exposed to risks arising from work activities in the premises for which the Council are the enforcing authority.

To achieve this aim the following activities are provided:

• Planned inspections of all premises on the basis of risk.
• The investigation of reportable accidents according to severity.
• The provision of advice to businesses on request.
• The investigation of complaints received in relation to health and safety within premises designated to District Councils.
