Building Control

The role of Building Control has changed over the recent years and continues to develop.

Just as the Building Regulations have changed over the years so our approach has also changed. Although the role of District Councils is to enforce Building Regulations, Building Control personnel now see their function as pro-actively giving support and advice to ensure that developers can meet their obligations under the Building Regulations. Todays Building Control service is often involved from the conceptual stage of a project, so that expert opinion on Building Regulation matters is incorporated at the outset. Designers consider this to be one of the most important aspects of the service.

The Building Control Department is there to serve you and has a responsibility to protect people and the environment and ensure equal access for all, irrespective of physical ability. Please don't hesitate to contact us at T: 9446 3113 for help and advice.

You can now APPLY ONLINE for Building Notice Regularisation and Property Certificate Applications. For all other applications visit www.buildingcontrol-ni.com

Full details on how to calculate your fees can also be found here.
