Oil Stamp Saving Scheme

What is the Antrim Borough Council Oil Stamp Savings Scheme?

It is a scheme that enables householders who use central heating oil to budget and save effectively.  Home heating oil is more cost effective when bought in larger quantaties, so saving over time is better than ordering small amounts on a regular basis.

Where does the scheme operate?

The scheme operates right across the Borough of Antrim.  Retail outlets selling the oil stamps as part of this scheme are located in Antrim, Crumlin, Randalstown, Templepatrick and Toomebridge.  The scheme is open to all householders living in the Borough of Antrim.

How does the scheme work?

An oil stamps saving card can be obtained from one of the outlets listed below.  You purchase oil stamps to the value of £5 which are placed on the savings card.  Each card holds 40 stamps which is equivalent to £200.  You can buy stamps as often as you wish allowing you to spread out the cost of your home heating oil.  The savings card can then be used a payment, or part payment for your oil with participating oil suppliers.

What if I require oil and my saving card is not full?

You do not need to complete your card before using it to pay for your oil.  The incomplete card will be accepted as part payment.

What if the total cost of the oil delivery is more than I have saved on my card?

Each oil supplier operates differently. So, once you are ready to order your oil, contact your preferred oil supplier and let them know the amount of oil you require and the value of stamps you have saved.

What if I lose my card?

Antrim Borough Council is not liable for oil stamps or oil stamp cards which are lost or stolen from  customers.  Once the oil stamps have been sold they are non-refundable from either stamps outlets or from Antrim Borough Council.  Customers should ensure that they keep their stamp card in a safe, secure location.

Where can I get more information?

You can contact the Health and Well-being team on T. 028 9446 3113 or E. oilstamps@antrim.gov.uk

PLEASE NOTE: IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE YOU COMPLY WITH THE PAYMENT POLICY OF YOUR CHOSEN OIL SUPPLIER
