Work in Progress February 2009 |
The latest photos of the work taking place at the Old Court House have just been released. The focus is currently on the archaeological dig which is ongoing. The dig has revealed a layer of 18th century cobbles, thought to be the original floor of the Court House. In addition, a further layer of cobbles has been uncovered. This appears to be a floor surface, tentatively dated to the 17th century or earlier.
Over the next fortnight, the Cupola feature on the roof of the Court House will be removed and will then undergo major repairs before being lifted back into place later in the year.
