Acupuncture
Anyone offering acupuncture in the Antrim Borough, and the premises they work from, must be registered with us under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Order 1985. It costs £50 to register a cosmetic business with us. This includes businesses offering acupuncture, cosmetic piercing, electrolysis, semi-permanent skin colouring or tattooing.
Cosmetic Piercing
Anyone offering acupuncture in the Antrim Borough, and the premises they work from, must be registered with us under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Order 1985. This refers to any piercing of the body, including ears. It costs £50 to register a cosmetic business with us. This includes businesses offering acupuncture, cosmetic piercing, electrolysis, semi-permanent skin colouring or tattooing.
Hairdressing or Barber Services
Under the Hairdressers Act (Northern Ireland) 1939, hairdressers or barbers in the Antrim Borough can register their business with us. We will inspect all registered businesses to check the cleanliness and safety of their premises and equipment and to minimise the risk of infection. It is free to register a hairdressing or barber business with us.
Tattooing
Anyone offering tattooing in the Antrim Borough, and the premises they work from, must be registered with us under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Order 1985. It costs £50 to register a cosmetic business with us. This includes businesses offering acupuncture, cosmetic piercing, electrolysis, semi-permanent skin colouring or tattooing.
Semi-permanent Skin Colouring
Anyone offering semi-permanent skin colouring in the Antrim Borough, and the premises they work from, must be registered with us under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Order 1985. This includes micropigmentation, semi-permanent make-up and temporary tattooing treatments.

Electrolysis
Anyone offering electrolysis in the Antrim Borough, and the premises they work from, must be registered with us under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Order 1985. It costs £50 to register a cosmetic business with us. This includes businesses offering acupuncture, cosmetic piercing, electrolysis, semi-permanent skin colouring or tattooing.
