GOOD NEWS FOR COMMUNITY HALLS

Tuesday, 06 May 2008

Are you are regular user or owner of a Community Hall? Would you like to save money on your running costs? If so, Antrim Borough Council would like to hear from you.

Philip Thompson, Health and Well-Being Manager explains, "We would like owners and trustees of local community halls to take part in an energy audit of their buildings, the purpose of which is to explore how energy efficiency measures could be introduced into these halls. The introduction of such measures may lead to savings in fuel and running costs and help create a more comfortable meeting environment, while at the same time contributing hugely to climate change targets."

Philip continued, "We believe that, by working in partnership with community halls and Northern Ireland Electricity, we could access up to 50% funding towards introducing energy saving measures which would the benefit our local communities."

If you would like further information on the scheme, please contact Philip Thompson
T. 9446 3113 or e-mail philip.thompson@antrim.gov.uk
