Did you notice the nomination form for the Antrim Community Excellence Awards in the latest edition of Council Eye? Did someone spring to mind who you thought you should nominate but you never got round to filling out the form? The good news is you still have a few days left to complete your nomination.
Mayor of Antrim, Councillor Paul Michael, comments, “These Awards are highly coveted. It is the Council's way of recognising those who have gone the extra mile to help their local communities. The nominations come from those who know the nominees best and who want to see them gain the recognition they deserve for so often putting other people before themselves."
Councillor Michael continues, “The finalists will be invited to the Awards Ceremony at the Dunadry Hotel on 13 June, when the winners will be announced. Previous winners regard it as a huge honour and are always very grateful to those who took the time to nominate them. I would urge all of you to take a few minutes out of your time to recognise those who work for the benefit of others and fill in your nomination."
Lesley Kirkpatrick, Tesco Store Community Champion added, “I’m sure that we all know at least one person who deserves to be rewarded for the difference they make to the Borough and the lives of the people around them. These awards provide the perfect opportunity to acknowledge that person and I’d urge all our customers to pick up a form and get nominating.”
