The 2012 Irish Paralympic Team are coming to Antrim to train in preparation for the London 2012 Paralympics Games. As part of this training camp, the athletes will host a ‘5 Star Activity Challenge’ where your child will have opportunity to compete against the athletes at various Paralympic sports including; wheelchair racing, hand cycling, rowing, Boccia, laser shooting and table tennis.
Nancy Chillingworth, Performance Director of Paralympics Ireland said: “The athletes are really looking forward to meeting the young people from the Antrim area for the 5 Star Challenge on Friday. Participants will have the opportunity to hear the inspirational stories of the team and their journey to the London 2012 Games as well as trying out a number of Paralympic sports. It should be a really fun afternoon and you never know, there may be a future Paralympian or Olympian amongst them!”
This event is free of charge. To register your child contact the Active Antrim Team on 028 9446 3113 or email; activeantrim@antrim.gov.uk
Parents are welcome to come along with the children and stay for the duration of the event.
