A campaign aimed at encouraging people in Antrim Borough to anonymously report drug dealing in their area has recently been launched by Antrim Policing & Community Safety Partnership, in partnership with Crimestoppers.
Chair of Antrim Policing & Community Safety Partnership, Councillor Trevor Clarke says, “Drug dealers don’t just harm the people they supply, they damage the entire community and Antrim PCSP want to send a message that they are not welcome in Antrim Borough.”
He continues, “Whilst it is recognised that people may be afraid of drug dealers we all have a responsibility to report their activity if we want to improve the communities we live in. You can report drug dealing or any suspicious activity completely anonymously to Crimestoppers who are an independent charity, they will not ask for your name or address and you will not have to sign a statement or appear in court.”
The initiative has been advertised through billboards in Antrim town, posters placed in prominent locations across the Borough and leaflets that have gone out to properties in identified areas.
If you have any information on crime in your area please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or alternatively you can phone the PSNI on 0845 600 8000 and help to stamp out drug dealing in Antrim Borough.
