FACELIFT OPPORTUNITY FOR CRUMLIN

Tuesday, 18 September 2012

Antrim Borough Council is offering commercial property owners in Crumlin another opportunity to give their property a facelift.

Karen Brown, Development Manager from Antrim Borough Council, explains, “The first phase of the Shop Front Improvement Scheme has had a major impact on the village. Phase II will provide a further opportunity for property owners to help improve the streetscape of Crumlin which in turn will hopefully encourage more private sector investment and new business creation.”

Property owners of most commercial businesses within the village are eligible to apply.  The scheme will support painting of most elements of the building including frontages and prominent elevations, some minor works and virtual window displays on derelict properties. Discretionary grant aid is available for up to £1,750 per property with owners required to provide 12.5% match funding up to a maximum of £250 per property.  Where the total project cost exceeds £2,000 property owners will be responsible for any additional costs.

Further information and applications forms can be obtained from Karen Brown, Development Manager, Antrim Borough Council, Antrim Civic Centre, 50 Stiles Way, Antrim, BT41 2UB T.  028 9446 3113 Ext 1344, E. karen.brown@antrim.go.uk.  Closing date for receipt of completed applications is 12noon on Tuesday 9 October 2012.
